The snow is gone and it's been a long winter at best. I can't tell you how excited I am to see Spring finally coming around. Even when it's been raining for the past week I've really been encouraged by the blooms on some of the trees and the sunshining through the clouds every morning. Wow, what a difference it makes when you get a little sunshine in your bones. This winter was good, Jared and I had a great holiday season and we enjoyed time with our families. The later part of winter was spent in the classroom for me, and at work for Jared. We've been in a pretty regular schedule for the past couple of months. But now it's starting to get mixed up a little more with the semester coming to an end and summer beginning to take off. I can hardly believe that next weekend we will be in the new church building. Time has flown by and we are already going to be having services in there which hardly seems possible. I've got some new recommended reading for you all.... I'm sure you've at least heard about this one:
This is the story of two Taylor University Students that were in a car accident in April of 2006. One of the girls died in the crash and the other one lived. However, for five weeks the families were mis-informed and the girl in the hospital was not who they thought she was. This is an incredible story of two families of faith. The families are not afriad to share their faith and God's grace and infinite power really screams through every page in this book. Both families were on Dateline and Oprah last week and the Van Ryn Family will be in Grand Rapids this Saturday from 1:00-3:00pm at Kregel Parable Christian Stores on the East Beltline. This is a free event and I will be working that day so I would love to see you all out for it. The Van Ryn's, the family who's daughter was killed, are a strong family and Their story is not one of hopelessness and loss but of hope and a future with Christ. If you haven't read the book I would highly recommend it.
I hope you all are well. have a great day!!! I'll try to update again soon.
